Over 185 Leading Women Executives Fellows, Advocates, and Sponsors attended the 2019 Symposium at the Mid-America Club in downtown Chicago, which began with a panel discussion, featuring business and civic leaders Deb DeHaas (Advisor and Board Member, Corporate Leadership Center; Vice Chairman and National Managing Partner, Center for Board Effectiveness, Deloitte, and Betsy Holden Senior Advisor, McKinsey & Company, moderated by Bevin Desmond, Global Head of Talent & Culture, Morningstar.
The Leadership Development Workshop, focused on “The Language of Leadership”, was led by Lori Nishiura Mackenzie, Co-Founder, Stanford VMware Women’s Leadership Innovation Lab; Lead Strategist, Stanford Graduate School of Business. The workshop was livestreamed for those who were unable to join the event in person.
As part of the networking sessions, merchants from the YWCA’s YShop were on site as part of a shopping boutique. The YShop promotes economic sustainability for women and provided an opportunity to “pay it forward” as part of shaping one’s future.
Following the Symposium, guests attended the Corporate Leadership Center Anniversary Event, celebrating the 10th anniversary of Leading Women Executives and 15th anniversary of CEO Perspectives.
